At DilWalk Medical Family Care, our Nurse Practitioners (NPs) play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare. Their scope of practice includes:
Conducting comprehensive health assessments, including history taking and physical exams
Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests (lab, imaging, etc.) to help detect illness early
Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic health conditions (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, infections)
Prescribing medications consistent with their scope, monitoring effectiveness and side-effects
Implementing and overseeing treatment plans, adjusting as needed for each patient
Providing health promotion, disease prevention, and counseling (nutrition, lifestyle changes, behaviour)
Coordinating care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and comprehensive care
