Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice

Giving to DIL Walk Foundation

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are highly skilled healthcare professionals with advanced, master’s-level nursing education. They are trained to provide comprehensive primary care that addresses both immediate and long-term health needs.

NPs are qualified to perform health screenings, manage chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging, prescribe and monitor medications, and offer specialist referrals when needed. They also conduct thorough physical examinations and perform minor office procedures.

With their wide-ranging expertise, NPs deliver patient-centered, holistic care focused on promoting, maintaining, and enhancing overall health and well-being.
